Mel C admits Spice Girls tour talks ongoing - Sports Mole

Mel C has confirmed that the Spice Girls are in active discussions about a new worldwide tour for next year, coronavirus permitting.

Four members of the girl group - Mel B, Mel C, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell - reunited for a 13-date tour of the UK and Ireland last year, culminating in three sold-out shows at Wembley Stadium.

Reports earlier this year suggested that the group are now planning a huge tour of Europe, North America and Australasia next year to mark 25 years since the release of their debut single 'Wannabe'.

"Well, we're talking about it" Mel C admitted on Thursday's edition of This Morning. "There are no plans set in stone right now, but I think all the fans out there know we would love to do more - more in the UK, more around the globe.

"So please God, this horrible pandemic goes away and we can all start making exciting plans for the future."

All five members of the group - including tour absentee Victoria Beckham - recently reunited for a lockdown walk near Halliwell's mansion in the Cotswolds, prompting speculation that Posh could rejoin her former bandmates for the new tour.

Emma Bunton has poured cold water on hopes of a new Spice Girls reunion – as she's signalled she might have another baby instead.

The 44-year-old star has suggested she might increase the size of her brood with boyfriend of 22-years, 41-year-old Damage singer Jade Jones.

Together, the timeless couple have two sons, 12-year-old Beau and nine-year-old Tate.

However, the artist officially known as Baby Spice says she is being bombarded with requests to have another baby by her family – and hinted she might go for it.

Speaking on the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast, Emma said: "[Jade] would love to have more children. I battle with myself because I think obviously I would never regret having a child, but I might regret not having another child.

"But I'm 44 and with the Spice Girls coming back and with [her nappy brand] Kit & Kin doing so well, I've got two very healthy children and I think especially now if I had another child, I would be more nervous than ever.

"That scares me too much — I get frightened about everything."

Emma said that Beau and Tate have been begging her for another younger brother or sister.

She revealed: "My kids want another one. On New Year's Eve we all sat around the table and I was like, 'Right, wishes for this year?' Both of them said, 'We would like another sibling'. No pressure. We'll see."

If Emma does go ahead with welcoming another child, she explained that it might derail plans for another Spice Girls tour – with the memory of the 2007 reunion tour still fresh in her memory where she had to rehearse two months after giving birth.

She said: "That was quite a difficult time. I just felt, 'Oh my God, this is happening so fast'.

"If anyone said to me, 'I'm going to go on tour two or three months after the baby', I'd say, 'No, you're not'.

"The time when I had just had Beau, that tour for me was special. We had babies around so I would say it was the most difficult of tours. It was a lovely time but definitely the hardest tour for me."
