Halton has not escaped the virus , which along with the health consequences, has seen highly anticipated events cancelled. A tribute to the Stone Roses' legendary Spike Island gig scheduled for the summer had to be called off, as did the usual Bonfire Night fireworks display and the much-loved pantomime at the Brindley.
